The Global Baby Skincare Initiative: invitation
We are contacting you on behalf of the Global Baby Skincare Initiative Steering Committee, which is composed by Prof. Lawrence Eichenfield, USA; Prof. Ilona Frieden, USA, along with Prof. Alain Taieb, France; Prof. Lin Ma, China; Prof. Michael J. Cork, UK, and Danielle Marcoux, Canada.

We would like to inform you and the Korean Pediatric Society about the Global Baby Skincare Initiative.

The Global Baby Skincare Initiative (GBSCI) is a long term project aiming to identify and challenge myths surrounding baby skincare among paediatricians and parents and provide the most updated information about how to best care for baby skin.

For more information about the Initiative please visit website:
http://baby-skin.excellence-in-paediatrics.org/

In its first year the GBSCI will be focusing on identifying the current gaps in existing knowledge base on baby skin care, but also address key and recurrent questions such as:

• Can infant skin care prevent skin conditions such as rash, eczema?
• What are the optimal baby bathing practices
• What is the current evidence for post bathing product use
• How to establish a best practice skin care advice for parents
• Key activities of the initiative include a range of supporting material that can be read and utilised by paediatricians in their practice.

With this opportunity we will appreciate if you could support us in our efforts to encourage your colleagues and members of the Korean Pediatric Society to submit Abstracts on the special Abstracts category on pediatric dermatology. Accepted abstracts will be presented during a dedicated posters' session at the upcoming Excellence in Pediatrics conference in Doha, Qatar 4-7 December 2013. Best abstracts will be awarded with the ''EiP Award on Pediatric Dermatology'' and will be presented as oral presentations during the 1st Global Baby Skincare Summit taking place on the occasion of the EiP 2013 conference.

In addition we would welcome you and your colleagues or members who have a special interest in pediatric dermatology, to join the EiP National Delegations - Think Tanks at the 1st Global Baby Skincare Summit.

The Summit will bring together the Steering Committee members along with the National Delegations - Think Tanks in a closed session in order to exchange views, present best practices and decide on key messages and next steps on the way forward.

The role of pediatric dermatologists and paediatricians is fundamental to the success of the initiative. By bringing the key stakeholders together the aim is to identify and then fill the gaps in the existing knowledge base in order to establish best practices skincare advice for paediatricians and parents.

We invite you to promote the Global Baby Skincare Initiative by informing your colleagues and the Korean Pediatric Society members about these various activities.

Some ways of spreading the word are:

1. To include the GBSCI logo and details on an association website -
a banner sample is attached, whose link is:
http://baby-skin.excellence-in-paediatrics.org/

2. To inform the association members about the GBSCI, including its call for Abstracts and the online Pediatric Dermatology Network (link: http://baby-skin.excellence-in-paediatrics.org/content/page/29/join-network)

3. To be represented at Excellence in Paediatrics 2013, in Doha, Qatar – you are welcome to recommend your representatives or colleagues to attend the GBSCI Summit and the Excellence in Pediatrics conference in Doha, Qatar in December.
We are looking forward to receiving your reply and we remain at your disposal for any additional information or clarification.

With kind regards

Patrizia
